Oceanography (OCEANO) Officers, also known as METOC, are geophysical experts supporting Navy operations through meteorology, oceanography, hydrography, and related fields.

Responsibilities include leading teams of 3-4 to over 400 personnel, collecting and analyzing environmental data, and serving as the sole geophysical expert at operational commands.
