Role Overview: The Senior Director, Labor and Associate Relations is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to strengthen relationships between the organization and its associates within the region. This includes promoting a people-first culture, evolving labor relations functions, and ensuring legal compliance. The role involves partnering with senior leadership, including the VP of Labor Relations, Region President, VP HR, and VP of Corporate Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Associate Relations: Develop engagement initiatives, support conflict resolution, and promote a positive culture through initiatives like the Breakthru Experience.
  • Labor Relations: Lead negotiations for collective bargaining agreements, monitor compliance with labor laws, analyze union dynamics, lead campaigns, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Data & Reporting: Collect and analyze data on associate satisfaction and labor issues, preparing reports to guide regional strategies.
  • Training & Development: Oversee training programs for managers and associates on conflict resolution, grievance handling, and union interactions.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Build strong relationships across teams, participate in cross-functional initiatives, and promote open communication.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business, or related field; 8+ years of labor/associate relations experience, especially in union environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and presentation software; strong communication, research, and analytical skills.
  • Results-driven, professional, with the ability to influence outcomes discreetly.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: JD focusing on labor law.

Additional Details: This role requires physical capacity to remain stationary, communicate, and operate computers/telephone, with travel approximately 50%. The role demands conceptual thinking for complex issues. Compensation ranges from $180,000 to $210,000, with bonus potential and comprehensive benefits.
