Portfolio Manager II

Role Overview

The Portfolio Manager supports risk assessment and manages the bank’s loan portfolio through analytical oversight, annual reviews, renewals, covenant compliance, and collections. They collaborate with Relationship Managers to develop a high-quality, profitable portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading analysis, underwriting, origination, and management of loans within a growing commercial and corporate portfolio.
• Applying loan structuring, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.
• Understanding and applying the bank’s risk grading methodology and credit appetite.
• Managing complex relationships with C&I and CRE borrowers.
• Partnering with Relationship Managers to identify client needs, develop lending proposals, and cross-sell products.
• Overseeing post-approval due diligence and documentation preparation.
• Maintaining a portfolio of targeted high-value clients, ensuring credit quality and servicing standards.
• Delegating tasks to junior team members and providing mentorship to develop their skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 3-5 years of commercial underwriting and portfolio management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong ability to analyze financial reports and legal documents, perform calculations, and evaluate information for decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with senior management, regulators, and clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Organizational, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
