Role Overview:
Our Baker is responsible for preparing and baking high-quality bakery products to ensure freshness and presentation, while delivering exceptional guest service. The role involves following established recipes, operating baking equipment, and maintaining sanitation standards. The Baker actively engages with customers by answering questions, making suggestions, and providing sampling to enhance the shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, form, and bake bakery products using scratch recipes.
- Operate proof boxes, fryers, and freezers to ensure product quality and freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and work area in compliance with sanitation standards.
- Assist with inventory by unloading deliveries and organizing ingredients.
- Provide knowledgeable customer assistance, promote suggestive selling, and ensure product rotation and dating for freshness.
- Follow safety protocols, proper handling procedures, and emergency measures.
- Support other bakery functions as needed to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 6 to 12 months of experience or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program.
- Prior bakery or related industry experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Understanding of baking ingredients and processes.
